against the Canes.

as Daryl Tapp & Company harrassed him continually as well.

Throughout the game, all the Hokie fans showed great spirit, but
these guys in the top row deserve special recognition for painting
the school's entire official name on their chests -- VIRGINIA
POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE AND STATE UNIVERSITY.

Ernest Wilford's touchdown reception on a 46-yard pass from Vick that
put the Hokies up 31-0 came in the same end zone where a failed
two-point conversion pass helped Miami to a victory and the national
championship two years earlier.

Jordan Trott got his first start replacing injured Mikal Baaqee and
contributed greatly to the Tech victory.

The Hokies love playing on ESPN and the win over Miami gave them a
24-5 record all-time on the sports network.

ESPN broadcasted this game in high-definition, and sideline reporter
Adrian Karsten plugged the technology during a break in the action.

After Miami had scored to make it 31-7, their next drive was thwarted
when Vincent Fuller intercepted a pass in the end zone to preserve
the final margin.

Vegas Robinson had a lot to shout about after the Hokie defense did
most of the damage in Tech's win.

Jake Grove celebrated on the field after Tech got a win over the
highest ranked team ever in convincing fashion.

Hokie players and fans enjoy a civilized celebration on Worsham Field
as Tech ran it's record to 7-1 on the season and got back into the
picture for a BIG EAST championship.

In the lockerroom after the game, Coach Beamer praised the Hokies and
talked about making history, and also got the team starting to think
about the Pittsburgh game a week away.

Lots of national media was on hand as Virginia Tech made a statement
on college football scene and brought great recognition to the
university.
