Virginia Tech 35 - Texas A&M

The blowing rain didn't dampen the enthusiasm of these fans, or many others, as a remarkable crowd braved the elements to cheer on the Hokies.

The Tech defense really came alive after halftime, allowing the Aggies only 56 yards in the second half.

Mikal Baaqee, Jonathan Lewis and Co., allowed A&M just four first downs in the second half as well.

Field position played a big part in this game, as did the Hokies LOUD throng of fans.

The Hokies didn't pass much on this rainy night, but Ernest Wilford's fourth down reception to move the chains was a big play in the fourth quarter.

Kevin Jones exploded against the Aggies, rushing for 188 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tech to a big non-conference win.

Thursday night games give Virginia Tech a great deal of exposure, and there were plenty of highlights for the Hokie fans to cheer about from this one.

Bryan Randall's 12-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was a big score and put the Hokies up 28-19.

In the end, the Hokies celebrated Tech's 35-19 victory over a good Texas A&M football team.
