Coach Frank Beamer and the Hokies headed into the first overtime period with confidence.	Quarterback Bryan Randall went 23 yards for a score on Tech's first overtime possession.
The celebration was short-lived, as Temple scored on it's first posession, too.	The Owls couldn't connect on the extra point, however, and Tech eked out the 24-23 victory.
Ernest Wilford celebrated the win with dignity and consoled the Owls on the hard-fought loss.	Randall led a group of Hokies and Owls in prayer on the field following the game, and no doubt Tech fans everywhere were giving thanks for the eighth win of the year.
