Virginia Tech 7 - West Virginia 28

The Hokies headed North across the New River Gorge to play BIG EAST and border rival West Virginia in a Wednesday night ESPN game.

The high-flying Hokies carried a 6-0 record and a No. 3 national ranking into a rabid Mountaineer Field to face a fired-up West Virginia squad.

Tech couldn't connect on this pass early in the game, and things didn't seem to go the Hokies way much in the battle for the Black Diamond Trophy.

Meanwhile, the Mountaineers were playing tough and making plays, such as this great catch between three Tech defenders.

Tech scored when Vegas Robinson scooped up a fumble and returned it 18 yards, and fumbled the ball again ...

... which was scooped up by Vincent Fuller and returned 50 yards for the Hokies' only touchdown.
