Virginia Tech 7 - West Virginia 28

Bryan Randall connected with Doug Easlick on this pass, but Tech managed just 211 total yards in the game.

WVU capped the scoring in the third quarter with a TD to put the Mountaineers up 28-7.

Tight end Keith Willis and the Hokies felt the pain of falling from the ranks of the unbeaten as the fourth quarter rolled on.

As the Hokies filed off the field, Mountaineer fans went crazy as they celebrated upsetting the No. 3 team in the nation.

In his post-game press conference Coach Beamer expressed disappointment, but pointed out that if the Hokies regroup and get a win in the next game against Miami, they would still be in the thick of the battle for the BIG EAST championship.
