Michael Hammond (Men's Track & Field, Sr., Midlothian, Va.)

Hammond won the mile run and broke the 4-minute barrier at the Roanoke Twilight on Thursday night with a school-record time of 3:58.91. He now holds both the indoor (3:58.41) and outdoor school records in the mile and is the only man in Tech history to go under four minutes in either event. Hammond's mile is the fastest run in the NCAA outdoors this season and he also won the 800 meters on Sunday at NC State's Wolfpack Last Chance in 1:49.61.
