Athlete Of The Week For The 2009-2010 Season

Queen Harrison, Women's Track and Field, Sr., Richmond, Va.
On Feb. 5, Harrison became the first Hokie to break the eight-second mark in the 60-meter hurdles at the VT Elite Meet. Harrison, already automatically qualified in the event, ran a 7.99 in the prelims of the event and clocked a 7.96 in the finals to win the 60-meter hurdle crown. The next day, the Richmond, Va., native improved on her school record and provisional mark in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.54 en route to another VT Elite title. Later, Harrison ran the opening leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed second in a provisional-qualifying time of 3:39.81.
