Athlete Of The Week For The 2009-2010 Season

Justin Wright, Baseball, Jr., Montclair, Va.
Wright earned National Player of the Week honors from Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger after turning in the most dominating performance at the ACC Championship last week. The left-hander recorded a career-high 15 strikeouts during a complete-game, 6-2 win over sixth-ranked Georgia Tech, falling just three strikeouts shy of both the tournament and Virginia Tech single-game records of 18. Wright equaled the most strikeouts by a Hokie since 2005, and he allowed just two runs on four hits and two walks to improve his record to 8-4.
