2012: Appeared in eight games overall and combined on two shutouts with a 9.95 ERA … Threw a total of 6.1 innings and struck out three batters … Struggled in his first outing as a Hokie, allowing two hits, a walk and hit a batter and did not register an out at High Point (2/28) ... Worked a scoreless eighth inning against Yale (3/3-G2) walking just one Bulldog ... Allowed two runs over one frame of work versus Duke (3/24) ... Threw one scoreless frame at Radford (4/10) striking out his first collegiate batter ... Worked a perfect inning out of the pen versus Davidson (4/24) ... In midweek games versus NC A&T and VMI (5/1-2), tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief with a strikeout … Allowed two hits and a run at North Carolina (5/17) and struck out one in an inning of relief.

2011: Redshirted the season.

High School: Pitched for Coach Mike Scott at Darien High, earning varsity letters in four seasons … Was named All-FCIAC honorable mention after his junior year and All-FCIAC Eastern Division after senior year … As a junior coming mostly out of the bullpen, went 5-1 in 32 innings with a 0.97 ERA and two saves and helped the Blue Wave to the state championship semifinals ... Started a state playoff game as a senior, tossing a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a no-decision effort.
