Before Tech: Spent the 2017 season at Cisco JC and the prior two years at Creighton (2015-16) ... At Cisco, was named First Team All-Conference as a catcher after playing in 40 games and finishing fourth on the team in batting with a .356 average and second in both on-base percentage (.500) and slugging percentage (.526) ... Had 36 hits, including nine doubles, a triple and two home runs, and walked 23 times (third on the team) and was hit by six pitches ... Scored 22 runs, added 19 RBI and struck out just 12 times in 101 at-bats, the fewest on the team of players with at least 80 ABs ... At Creighton, played in 18 games and made 11 starts at catcher as a freshman in 2015 ... Had eight hits, including three doubles, knocked in five and scored twice ... Was sidelined with an injury in 2016.

High School: Did not play baseball for his high school team, but played for the Langley Blaze, rated the top team in Canada by Perfect Game and Baseball America ... Was also a member of Canada's Junior National Team under coach Greg Hamilton ...
