2012: Appeared in nine games overall and made five starts … Posted a 2-0 record – team was 5-0 in his five starts – and combined on two shutouts with a 3.57 ERA … Threw a total of 17.2 innings and struck out 24 batters … Opponents batted just .190 against him … Struck out at least two five times … Tossed a scoreless ninth inning against Bradley (2/18) and struck out two ... Worked 0.2 innings versus West Virginia (2/24) with a strikeout, but allowed three runs, one earned ... Earned his first win of the year in his first start in a combined-shutout effort against Yale (3/4-G2), tossing five frames with a career-high six strikeouts ... High School: Pitched for his father Coach Jack O’Keefe at Waterford High, earning varsity letters all four seasons … Was named the Gatorade player of the year, the Louisville Slugger player of the year and New Haven Register State player of the year after the 2010 season … He finished that senior year 8-1 with a sub-1.00 ERA with 115 strikeouts … Was earned 2009 and 2010 all-state honors … Earned two letters playing on the Lancers’ basketball team under Coach Don Berkel … Other honors include 2010 Rawlings/Perfect Game preseason All-American honorable mention and first-team Northeast Region.
