Career Highlights: Became just the second true freshman at the school to lead the team in saves (min. 4), joining Brad Clontz, who also saved five in 1990 ... Joined Charlie Gillian (r-Fr., 1994, 12 saves) as the only three freshman to have finshed the season with the outright lead in saves (min. 4).
2014: Appeared in 25 games (second on the team) all out of the bullpen … Had a 4.05 ERA in a total of 40.0 innings, struck out 25 batters, walked 16, and posted a 2-2 record with a team-high five saves … Finished a team-high 14 games … Opponents hit just .257 against him and allowed just eight extra-base hits (five doubles and three triples) … Threw at least 1.0 inning in 21 appearances and did not allow an earned run in 13 of them … Inherited 22 runners (second most on the team) and allowed just seven to score for a 68.2 percent held rate … Struck out at least two batters five times … Pitched a total of 26 scoreless innings, including 7.1 consecutive … Also, threw 13 perfect frames, struck out the side twice, and, at one point, retired 11 straight batters ... In the NCAA, was ranked 158th in saves.
High School: Earned varsity letters all four years while playing for Coach Gregg Conner at Powhatan … Named all-district all four years, while being named all-region three times … As a senior, named second team all-state after tossing 46 innings with 70 strikeouts, a 2.50 ERA and 4-3 record … Helped the Indians to the state title in 2012.
