High School: Lettered four years for Coach Pat McQuaid at Nova High School, a team which he helped to the state Class 5A playoffs every year … Led Nova to the District 16 championship as a senior, after batting .508 with five homers, 34 RBI, 32 runs scored and 19 stolen bases … Was named a Louisville Slugger High School All-American, a BCAA all-star and first-team all-county for his efforts … At the plate in 2008 the team MVP batted .438 with 32 RBI, three home runs and 33 runs scored, while going 5-2 in 52 innings on the mound with 67 strikeouts and just eight walks … Was a part of a national championship team on three occasions in the summer, and he tossed a four-hit complete game to clinch the 2008 18U WWBA tournament in Georgia.
