BLACKSBURG, Va. - The final game of the three-game ACC baseball series between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the NC State Wolfpack was cancelled due to the weather Sunday afternoon.

The game was initially postponed nearly three hours because of rain. It finally started shortly before 4 p.m. The teams played into the second inning before the game was halted by lightning.

Tech lost the first game of the series 21-3 on Friday, but bounced back to take game two 7-6 on Saturday evening.

The Hokies play host to Charlotte at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 16. The contest will be the last home game of the year and the final home game of Coach Chuck Hartman's career. The first 1,000 fans at the game will be given a commemorative baseball.
