BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech Athletics Department has announced the various media outlets that will carry the exhibition baseball game on March 18 between the New York Yankees and the Virginia Tech Hokies at English Field.

For those not fortunate enough to have been awarded a ticket, there are several ways in which the game action can still be enjoyed live.

The YES (Yankees Entertainment and Sports) Network will handle the television broadcast, and will provide a live feed to WDBJ Channel 7, Roanoke's CBS affiliate.

There will also be a live video stream available for free on mlb.com, the official Web site of Major League Baseball.

Those wishing to listen to live audio of the game will have two options. A radio broadcast will be available locally on the flagship station for Virginia Tech sports, 105.3 FM The Bear. For those not in the Blacksburg area, the same audio will be provided for free on Virginia Tech's official athletics Web site, hokiesports.com.

The front page of hokiesports.com will have links available on game day to both the audio broadcast and the streaming video on mlb.com.

Weather permitting, the Yankees/Hokies game is scheduled for 3 p.m. There will be no makeup date if the game is cancelled due to inclement weather.

The Yankees' visit to Virginia Tech honors the commitment they made on May 23, 2007, when, in an effort to reach out to the Blacksburg campus in the wake of the April 16 campus tragedy, they donated $1 million to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund and announced plans to play the Tech baseball team as a means of helping the community in its healing process.
