Personal Statement on my position on Court or as Homecoming Queen:
Whether a student or alum, the thought of Virginia Tech brings to mind a history of excellence in both academics and athletics. I think I am qualified for Homecoming Court because I exemplify both sides. Being a student athlete allows me to fulfill our school’s motto, “Ut prosim,” on several levels. I serve as a leader in and out of the pool and volunteer in our community through athletics and also as the general student. Homecoming is the opportunity to showcase our spirit, pride, and unity as a school, as well as recognize fine organizations throughout our campus. It welcomes alumni back but at the same time allows students to appreciate the history, tradition, and pride that back their university. If elected Homecoming Queen, I would use this title to promote leadership, ideals, and strive to get students more involved on our campus.
