Hokies impressive on the road
Women win their race, Men finish third

The Virginia Tech cross country program found success at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro Saturday afternoon. The Tech women won their meet with a score of 35 and the men placed third with a score of 58. Both fields were comprised of 14 teams.
The women had an excellent showing as they produced the top three individual times of the race. Junior Stacey Vidt led the Hokies and finished first overall in a time of 18:06. Senior Chelsea Alverson took second place in a time of 18:10 and freshman Jessica Morris claimed the third spot in a time of 18:24.
Idaho State finished second with a team score of 57 and Duke captured third.
The men also turned in a solid performance, led by sophomore Casey Frazier. He finished second overall in a time of 25:04. Freshman David Atkiss finished in a time of 25:39, good for sixth place.
The overall winner on the men's side was Idaho State with a team score of 37. Florida took second place with a score of 57, just one point ahead of the Hokies.
The Hokies return to action on October 13th in Greenville, S.C. for pre-nationals at Furman University.
