Vidt Competes at NCAA Cross Country Championships
Senior is the first Hokie woman to go to nationals in 12 years

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Senior Stacey Vidt (Allison Park, Pa.) represented Virginia Tech Monday at the 2002 NCAA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Indiana State University. She crossed the finish line in a time of 22:07.2.
Vidt earned an automatic bid to the national competition with her 19th place finish at the Southeast Region Championships on Nov. 16. She became the first Tech woman to earn all-district honors and qualify for the NCAA Championship since Heidi Allen did so in 1990.
The team championship in this year's meet went to Brigham Young University. North Carolina's Shalene Flanagan took the individual title, finishing the season undefeated.
