BLACKSBURG, Va.- Sophomore Jessica Trapeni was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week, the ACC announced on Monday. Trapeni won the three-mile Hokie Open race for Tech on Saturday, crossing the line in 17:42.
Trapeni’s effort helped lead the Hokies to the team title at the meet with 20 points. Sophomore Lindsey King and freshman Chrissy Sane both placed in the top five with second and fourth-place finishes, respectively.
Both the men’s and women’s squads will travel to Clemmons, N.C., for the NCAA Southeast Regional on Saturday. The women’s 6,000-meter race will begin at 11 a.m., while the men will run their 10,000-meter race at noon. Results will be posted on hokiesports.com following the meet.
