Beamer announces lineup change
The Notebook
Virginia Tech head football coach Frank Beamer announced Tuesday that sophomore Brandon Holland is scheduled to get the start at right guard for this Saturday's game against the University of North Carolina.

Holland will be starting in place of fellow true sophomore Sergio Render, who has started the previous 17 games at the position. Render will not start or play in the first quarter.

It will be the first start for Holland, a 6-foot-4, 326-pounder, as he has served as a backup at guard this year and last. The Roanoke, Va., native has played in all four games on the field goal/PAT teams and in two games on offense in this year, including 31 snaps last week against William & Mary.

Beamer said the move is due to internal disciplinary actions and that there would be no further comment.

Kickoff at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field is set for noon. The game will be televised regionally by Lincoln Financial Sports/Raycom and on ESPN GamePlan.
