Wanted to give offense a try, so moved to receiver last season after a year in the defensive secondary … Worked at split end in the fall before switching to flanker for spring practice … Has outstanding speed and is a two-time Super Iron Hokie in the weight room … Coaches really like his effort.

2010: Began working at split end … Saw duty with the scout team … Earned Super Iron Hokie honors during the off-season posting a 350-pound bench press, best among the receivers, and running a 4.33 time in the 40 … Switched over to flanker for the spring … Had catches of 4 and 11 yards during spring practice scrimmages.

2009: Joined the team as a walk-on after school started … Worked at free safety in the fall while redshirting … Earned Super Iron Hokie honors during winter testing … Posted a vertical jump of 36 1/2 inches … Earned 100% Effort Awards for five of the team’s six pre-spring 6 a.m. workouts ... Improved in three of the four major lifts during off-season workouts … Switched to corner for the spring … Was in on seven tackles during one spring scrimmage and intercepted a pass in another … Contributed three tackles during the spring Maroon-White game.

High School: Was a defensive back and wide receiver for Coach Don Rice at Jefferson Forest … Had 91 tackles, two interceptions and three fumble recoveries as a senior … Was an all-district pick on offense and earned all-region honors as a defensive back … Ran both indoor and outdoor track, earning all-state honors in both … Was a district indoor champ in the 55 meters and took district outdoor titles in the 100 and 200 meters … Also a competitive weight lifter.
