Suffered a knee injury in camp last fall after a strong showing at free safety during 2008 spring drills … Began working to regain his form this past spring … Is athletic enough to play several positions, but must continue to add strength … Could figure in on special teams and add depth in the secondary … His progress during the preseason will help determine his role.

2008: Set a vertical jump record for the free safety position with a height of 41 1/2 inches … Opened preseason workouts No. 2 at safety … Suffered a torn ACL on the third day of practice and underwent season-ending surgery … Was redshirted … Posted a tackle for loss in one of the spring scrimmages … Contributed a pair of tackles during the Maroon-White game.

2007: Provided depth at cornerback … Worked at field corner but did not see action … Moved to free safety for spring practice … Contributed a tackle in the Maroon-White game.

2006: Worked at the split end position during the fall … Also saw some action on defense during the jayvee games … Posted a 36-inch vertical jump during strength and conditioning tests … Worked at cornerback during the spring.

High School: Saw action at receiver, tailback and outside linebacker while playing for Coach Bill Bowles at Meadowbrook … Earned first-team all-district honors as a running back and linebacker … Was a second-team pick as a receiver … Helped team to a state AAA title … Rushed for over 500 yards and scored eight touchdowns as a senior running back … Added 14 receptions for 200 yards … Was a member of the Central Region All-Academic team … Also played baseball.
