2012: Played in all 13 games, all coming as the holder for extra points and field goals … Appeared in five plays on special teams against Georgia Tech … Saw time on special teams against Austin Peay and at Pittsburgh … Was in on nine special teams plays against Bowling Green … Contributed on seven special teams plays against Duke and three at Clemson … Played four special teams plays at Miami and six against Florida State … Was in on six plays at Boston College … Saw action on 11 special teams plays against Virginia … Appeared on special teams - holding for the overtime, game-winning field goal - against Rutgers in the Russell Athletic Bowl … Held for the game-winning kicks against Georgia Tech, Virginia and Rutgers … Earned Iron Hokie honors during the off-season program.

High School: Became the first four-year starter at quarterback for Blacksburg High and finished as the school’s all-time leading passer … Played for Coach Dave Crist … Threw for over 1,700 yards as a senior in 2008 and added another 650 yards and five touchdowns rushing … Tossed four TD passes and ran for another score in a game against Northside … Was a four-time all-district pick and was all-state his senior year … Lettered four years in baseball, winning all-district honors all four seasons and setting school season and career records for stolen bases … A three-year all-state honoree in track.
