BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech cornerback DeAngelo Hall has been downgraded to "out" and will not play Saturday against Syracuse. The sophomore from Chesapeake, Va., developed low back pain and is underwent diagnostic testing and treatment, according to head athletic trainer Mike Goforth.

Hall, who leads the team with nine passes broken up and is tied for the team lead with four interceptions, is listed as questionable for Tech's Nov. 20 game against West Virginia. He will not travel with the team.

Defensive backs coach Lorenzo Ward has announced the Garnell Wilds will start at the field corner spot with Ronyell Whitaker starting at the boundary corner position. Vincent Fuller will also see a large amount of playing time.
