Hokies Add 25th Football Commitment
Nolen signs with Tech

BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech football program picked up its 25th commitment of the 2005 recruiting class Thursday when Hampton receiver Todd Nolen signed with the Hokies. The 6-3, 175-pounder caught 53 passes for 1,370 yards and 16 touchdowns his final year. He had seven 100-yard games, including a 248-yard receiving night against Phoebus. Nolen also scored a season-high four touchdowns in Hampton's 700th victory, a 44-3 win over Kecoughtan.

Nolen was named first-team all-state by both the Associated Press and the VHSCA. He is ranked the No. 10 player in the state of Virginia by The Roanoke Times and the No. 24 wide receiver in the nation by rivals.com.

With Nolen's signing, Tech signed four of the top five players in the state, seven of the top 10 and 11 of the top 20. In all, the Hokies signed 14 players from Virginia and 11 from out of state.
