Statement on Virginia Tech Student-Athletes
Virginia Tech
February 18, 2004

The university administration has been apprised of recent charges served on three Virginia Tech student-athletes. We take this situation seriously and have confidence in the guidance provided by the institution's Comprehensive Action Plan.

The plan advises and governs Virginia Tech student-athlete conduct. The university athletic director has taken the situation under review. He will evaluate the students' conduct within the context of the situation, and take action if and when appropriate.

The Comprehensive Action Plan, which governs student athlete behavior, was created in 1996-97 by a university-wide committee and adopted by the university Board of Visitors.
