BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech reserve defensive tackle Jimmy E. Williams has been suspended indefinitely from the Hokie football squad, as announced Monday by head coach Frank Beamer, for a violation of team policies.

The rising senior from Memphis, Tenn., played in five games last season, recording six solo tackles and 12 assisted stops.

Williams transferred to Tech from Pasadena (Calif.) City College and has one year of eligibility left.
