Webcam back up and running
March 4, 2004

The people who run the Tech athletics department website, hokiesports.com, announced today that they have the Lane Stadium webcam up and running. The webcam had been mounted on the top of the Lane Stadium press box and allowed Internet users to watch as workers built the South end zone structure and installed the turf on Worsham Field. But Tech took down the webcam as workers began working on the west side structure of Lane Stadium.

Now, thanks to the Virginia Tech Electrical Service, the webcam is back in action. The Tech Electrical Service built a mount on one of the light poles of the soccer/lacrosse stadium and Tech placed the webcam on that mount. This should provide fans with an up-close view of construction of Lane's west side as it goes on throughout the summer and into the fall.
