Last day to order spring game tickets and have them mailed
April 11, 2003

Because of their concerns over people potentially having to wait in long lines before the kickoff of the Maroon-White game on April 19th, Tech officials are urging all fans who plan on coming to the spring game to purchase their tickets ahead of time through the Virginia Tech ticket office. Today - April 11th - is the final day for customers to purchase tickets and have those tickets mailed to them. Customers can still purchase tickets after April 11th, but must do so in advance at the Tech ticket office. The Tech ticket office again reminds fans that there will be no public will call on the day of the game.

Again, Tech fans can purchase tickets today - April 11th - and have those tickets mailed to them. Tickets may be purchased by calling the ticket office at 1-800-VATECH4 or also on-line at (Click on Purchase New Tickets).

On the day of the game, the Tech ticket office in Cassell Coliseum will be open at 9 a.m. and the ticket booths at the stadium will open at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the game. Tickets cost $5 a piece. Fans under 18 years of age and Virginia Tech students with ID will be admitted free to the spring game.

Parking is free to the public. Regular-season parking lots will be used on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those lots will open at 8 a.m. on game day.

All proceeds from the game will go toward the Rayna DuBose Fund. DuBose was a freshman center on the Virginia Tech women's team last year who was stricken with a rare brain and spinal cord bacterial infection, meningococcal meningitis, that caused her to lose parts of all four of her limbs. The fund was established to help defray some of the medical expenses.

The annual Maroon-White game kicks off at 2 p.m. on April 19th. The game will be played at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field.
