Football Clinic Draws Record Numbers
Nearly 450 High School Coaches On Tech Campus

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Nearly 450 high school coaches from a total of 12 states are on the Virginia Tech campus for the Hokies' annual football coaches' clinic. The record turnout includes coaches from Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky and Delaware.

The clinic began Thursday night and will conclude Saturday afternoon following a spring practice scrimmage by the Tech football team. Salem (Va.) High School head coach Willis White and members of the Tech football staff will be featured speakers Saturday morning. Tech head coach Frank Beamer spoke on special teams play during Friday's sessions.

One of the coaches in attendance is Phillip Morgan who coached Penn State All-American defensive end Courtney Brown at Macedonia High School in South Carolina. Brown is expected to be one of the top two picks in Saturday's NFL Draft.
