hokiesports.com to provide updates from BIG EAST meetings
May 16, 2003

The Virginia Tech athletics department website, hokiesports.com, will be providing up-to-date information on the latest concerning the ACC-BIG EAST expansion issues. Bill Roth, the voice of the Hokies, will cover the BIG EAST meetings on May 17-21 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and will be writing updates as news breaks. Those in attendance at the meetings will include athletics directors, football coaches and men's basketball coaches from each of the 14 league schools.

Earlier in the week, the ACC voted to expand from nine members to 12, targeting three BIG EAST schools as the three new members, including Miami. BIG EAST commissioner Mike Tranghese and officials from all league schools will meet this weekend to discuss ways of making it viable for the league to remain intact and to reaffirm institutional commitment to the league.

Check hokiesports.com periodically and read Roth's latest concerning the situation.
