Beamer to be honored by All-American Football Foundation

Tech football coach Frank Beamer will be honored by the All-American Football Foundation with the Johnny Vaught Lifetime Achievement Award for Head Coaches, recognizing his achievement as the head coach of the Hokies. Beamer will be given the honor at the 43rd Banquet of Champions on Thursday night at the Marriott in Richmond.

Beamer will be honored along with former UVa coach George Welsh, Frank Jones of Presbyterian College and the University of Richmond, Jim Tait of the University of Richmond, former UConn coach Walt Nazdak, Bill Hayes of North Carolina A&T State University and Tom Harp of Duke University - all of whom will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Also, former Tech coach Bill Dooley will be presented with the Bud Dudley Bowl Executive Award for his work organizing and running the Blue-Gray Football Classic. And Marie Dooley, Bill's wife, will be presented with the First Lady of Football Award.
