July 12, 2000

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Wednesday that all six regular season football games are sold out for the upcoming 2000 season.

The Athletics Department also announced today that tickets still remain for the Black Coaches Association Bowl game against Georgia Tech. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 8 p.m., on August 27 at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field. The Black Coaches Association is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to foster the growth and development of minorities at all levels of sports, both nationally and internationally. Proceeds from that game will benefit the BCA.

This marks the first time in school history that Virginia Tech has sold out the entire regular season schedule prior to the start of the season. Lane Stadium/Worsham Field will have a seating capacity of more than 55,000 for the 2000 season.

Tech, coming off a record-breaking 11-1 season and an appearance in the national championship game, will open the 2000 football season in Blacksburg against Georgia Tech in the BCA Bowl on August 27.
