August 26, 2000

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Saturday afternoon that tickets for Sunday's BCA Bowl football game between Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field are sold out.

A record crowd of over 56,000 is expected to be on hand for the 8 p.m. game, which will be televised nationally by ESPN2. ESPN GameDay also will be on hand for a live pregame show that will air on ESPN2 beginning at 7 p.m.

The sellout assures Tech of capacity crowds at all of its seven home games this season. The Hokies already had sold out their six regular-season home games against Akron, Rutgers, Temple, West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Virginia. It marks the first time in school history that the Hokies have sold out every home football game prior to the start of the season.
