Chambers Named Senior Associate AD
Former Associate AD promoted

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech Director of Athletics Jim Weaver has announced the promotion of David Chambers to senior associate athletics director.

Now in his fourth year at Virginia Tech, Chambers' new responsibilities with the Hokies will include extensive work with the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund, the Hokies' fund-raising arm, as well as assisting Weaver with football scheduling. Previously the associate athletics director for external affairs, Chambers will continue to supervise marketing and promotions, sports information, the ticket office, and - the newspaper. Chambers is the department's liaison with ISP Sports, the exclusive multi-media and advertising rights holder for Virginia Tech athletics.

Chambers joined the Virginia Tech athletics staff in 1998, following six years at UNLV as the associate and senior associate athletics director. Chambers was a legislative assistant with the NCAA from 1990-92 and an administrative assistant with the Iowa athletics department during the 1985-86 academic year.

A 1983 graduate of Iowa, Chambers receive a master's degree in educational measurement and statistics from Iowa in 1985 and a juris doctor degree from Wake Forest in 1989. He was licensed to practice law in North Carolina in 1989.
