Storms Cause Football Parking Change
West portion of lot 9 will be closed
August 30, 2000

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Wednesday that it will close the west portion of football parking lot No. 9 for the remainder of the season following last Sunday night's torrential rain storms. The western portion of the lot, located off Tech Center Drive, was heavily damaged by the storms, which forced the postponement of the BCA Bowl football game between the Hokies and Georgia Tech at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field.

The eastern portion of Lot 9 will remain open and will accommodate approximately 400 vehicles on a first-come, first-serve basis. All Lot 9 passes will be honored in the Public Lots on campus. Fans with Lot 9 passes are encouraged to use the B-lot, bordering on Price's Fork Road. The B-lot is paved and large enough to handle the increased demand.

The changes will go into effect for Saturday's home game against Akron, which is scheduled to kick off at noon.
