Beamer not concerned about Warley

Tech kicker Carter Warley has gotten off to a slow start this season after missing all of spring practice and all of summer workouts with a back injury. He has made just two of his five field-goal attempts, with his longest coming from 39 yards out. Warley made a 20-yarder this past weekend against Western Michigan, but he missed from 39 yards out. He already has more misses this season than he did all of last season.

"He's fine," Tech head coach Frank Beamer said on the BIG EAST teleconference Monday morning. "It's not like he's had bad misses. The one the other day went just to the side of the goalpost. He's just been a little off, but he's kicking them solid."

Beamer, though, plans on meeting with the redshirt sophomore to discuss his practice schedule. Warley kicks every other day because of his back, but that might be changing.

"I'm going to visit with him and we'll see if he needs to kick a little more in practice," Beamer said. "I'm going to leave it up to him. But I'm not worried about him. Like I said, he's kicking the ball solid. He's just been a little off."
