BLACKSBURG, VA - The Virginia Tech Athletics Department has announced the launch of an identity campaign designed to further develop the brand image of the athletics department and enhance its relationship with current fans while cultivating new fans. Titled "Proud Past, Promising Future!" the comprehensive multi-media campaign features a five-minute video highlighting the past, present and future of Virginia Tech Athletics from its inception to the current status of 21 varsity sports.

Tech director of athletics Jim Weaver stated, "We felt with our move to the ACC this year the timing was perfect for this identity campaign. Virginia Tech has a long and rich tradition of excellence both academically and athletically. We are very proud of our past and quite excited about our future. This identity campaign will allow us to introduce ourselves to our ACC colleagues."

The campaign will include a commemorative poster as well as television, radio and print ads in markets locally, statewide and in ACC territories.
