Virginia Tech Announces Stadium Security Measures
Stadium re-entry policy eliminated
September 24, 2001

Virginia Tech Director of Athletics, Jim Weaver, announced today that fans attending all remaining Tech home football games this season should make plans to arrive early and allow for additional time to enter Lane Stadium/Worsham Field.

New security policies will go into effect at Lane Stadium when No.7 Tech plays host to the University of Central Florida this Saturday, September 29, at noon.

Fans should not bring large bags, backpacks, tote bags or other similar items into Lane Stadium. All items brought into the stadium will be inspected, including small bags such as purses and diaper bags. Spectators can speed their entry into the stadium by leaving nonessential items behind. Lane Stadium regulations currently prohibit alcoholic beverages, coolers and containers of any kind and umbrellas from being brought into the facility.

Effective September 29 fans will not be allowed to exit and to re-enter Lane Stadium during halftime or any other time after initial entry. This policy will remain in place for future Tech home games.
