The Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Monday that the Oct. 9 football game between Wake Forest and Virginia Tech at Groves Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C., will begin at noon and will be televised by Jefferson-Pilot Sports. J-P selected the time for the kickoff for televising purposes.

The contest will mark the 33rd meeting between the Demon Deacons and Hokies with Tech leading 20-11-1. The last time the two teams met was in 1984, with the Hokies coming away from Groves Stadium with a 21-20 win.

In addition, the Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Monday that the Oct. 16 football game between Virginia Tech and Florida A&M will kick at 1 p.m. At this point, no live television is planned for the Homecoming contest. This will be the first meeting in football between the two schools.
