BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech head athletic trainer Mike Goforth announced Sunday afternoon that Jason Lallis, Justin Hamilton and Richard Johnson will not play Saturday against Rutgers. All three left Saturday's game against the University of Connecticut with injuries.

Lallis, a defensive tackle, left the game with a knee injury. Originally thought to be an ACL injury, Goforth now believes it is an MCL injury to his right knee. Lallis will undergo an MRI Monday morning at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

Johnson, Tech's starting flanker, also suffered an MCL injury. His was to his left knee. No MRI has been scheduled on him yet.

Hamilton, Tech's No. 2 split end, left the game with a left ankle injury. With Hamilton and Johnson out, look for Chris Shreve, David Clowney, Chris Clifton and DeAngelo Hall to see additional action.

Goforth also said that offensive lineman James Miller is out for Saturday's game with a dislocated No. 2 toe on his left foot. Miller missed the UConn game.

In other injuries, linebacker Chad Cooper will miss the Rutgers game. He is still experiencing neck and shoulder problems. Ryan Hash will have season-ending shoulder surgery on Tuesday.
