BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement with ESPN Regional Television (ERT) to produce and broadcast its November 11 football game against Central Florida in Orlando.

Tech and ERT will syndicate the game for telecast throughout the Commonwealth and in select other cities in the Hokies' mid-Atlantic market. Individual affiliates carrying the contest have not been finalized and will be announced the week of the game.

"With the strong ratings we enjoyed last season and during the first half of this season, we hope to put together a strong network of affiliates for this game," said Tech Director of Athletics Jim Weaver.

The broadcast ensures that all of the Hokies' football games during the 2000 season will be televised either as part of the BIG EAST Conference's television agreement or through individual game arrangements with ERT.

"We truly are excited to bring this contest to a large number of our fans," added Weaver. "This marks a significant event for our football program."

Kick-off time for the Central Florida game at the Citrus Bowl is scheduled for 6 P.M.
