Injury list lengthy heading into UVa game
November 12, 2001

Tech head coach Frank Beamer expressed concern Monday on the BIG EAST teleconference over the Hokies' ever-growing list of injuries. His biggest concern is David Pugh, Tech's starting defensive tackle, who missed the Temple game after suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee in the Hokies' loss to Pittsburgh. Pugh will be dressed in blue for Tuesday's practice, which means no contact, but he is still listed as questionable.

The rest of the injuries include Matt Wincek (knee), Luke Owens (ankle), Jake Houseright (ankle), and Jarrett Ferguson (shoulder). All of those guys are expected to be in blue for Tuesday's practice as well.

"We're pretty beat up right now," Tech head coach Frank Beamer said. "But this is an important game and we'll have to be ready for the challenge."
