November 16, 2003

ESPN has announced it will televise Virginia Tech's BIG EAST Conference football game this Saturday (Nov. 22) against Boston College. The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. EST kickoff.

Tech is 8-2 overall, 4-2 in the conference after a 24-23 overtime win at Temple on Saturday.

The Eagles (6-5, 2-4) became bowl eligible with their 35-25 win over Rutgers on Saturday and still have a chance to claim one of the BIG EAST's bowl game slots.

The game will feature the top two running backs in the league. BC's Derrick Knight is averaging 127.45 yards per game while Tech's Kevin Jones is averaging 125.40 yards per contest, ranking them fifth and seventh, respectively, in the nation.

The game will be Virginia Tech's last as a member of the BIG EAST Conference as the Hokies will begin play in the ACC next season.
