Hokies For The Hungry
One Can from Every Fan
November 18, 2002

The Marching Virginians will sponsor a massive canned food drive in conjunction with the VT vs. WVU football game on Wednesday, November 20. The goal of the ambitious sixth annual HOKIES FOR THE HUNGRY drive is to collect 65,115 cans of food - One Can from Every Fan!

Bill Roth, the Voice of the Hokies, is serving as Honorary Chairman of HOKIES FOR THE HUNGRY. "This is a time of year that many of us get together with friends and family to celebrate the holiday season," said Roth. "There are many families and individuals in our region who are less fortunate, and this is a wonderful opportunity to share with them. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would hope both fans of Tech and WVU would contribute to this wonderful cause during the start of the holiday season."

Drop-off points for HOKIES FOR THE HUNGRY will be established at all four corners of Lane Stadium and at the Marching Virginians' practice field at the corner of Southgate Drive and Spring Road (across from Lane Stadium), and various locations near the stadium where Tailgate Pep Bands will be performing prior to the 7:00 P.M. kick- off.

All contributions will be distributed through the Montgomery County Christmas Store.
