HokieBird to get TV time
November 27, 2002

The HokieBird, Virginia Tech's mascot, will be getting a lot of air time in the upcoming weeks after spending two days at Snowshoe Ski Resort being filmed for "bumpers" before commercials and holiday features and after being shot for a segment about turkeys currently running on the Animal Planet channel.

Various national networks, including the Weather Channel, CNN, ABC, NBC and CBS will broadcast the bumpers featuring the HokieBird. The show on Animal Planet, entitled "Turkey Secrets," informs viewers on the habitat and rituals of turkeys and includes a segment on the HokieBird. This segment, airing in the second half of the hour long program, includes information about the HokieBird and the story behind how the HokieBird became the official mascot at Virginia Tech.
