November 29, 2002

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech defensive tackle Kevin Lewis had a procedure performed Friday morning at Montgomery Regional Hospital by Dr. Joe Prudhomme to repair the torn pectoralis tendon in his left shoulder. According to head athletic trainer Mike Goforth, the procedure went well and says Kevin is resting with his parents and younger brother Jonathan.

Lewis will require six weeks of immobilization followed by another six weeks of physical therapy. He should be back to weight lifting in three to four months and a full recovery is expected for his return for the 2003 season.

Lewis will miss Saturday's game against Virginia, along with the rest of the season.
