Whitaker Named An AP All-American
Taylor also makes third A-A squad

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech cornerback Ronyell Whitaker earned his first All-America honors Tuesday night, making The Associated Press' third team. The junior from Norfolk, Va., was a first-team All-BIG EAST selection this year after making 53 tackles and recording 10 passes broken up and an interception.

Senior linebacker Ben Taylor was honored once again, making the AP's second team. It is the third All-America team the Bellaire, Ohio, native has made this year. Earlier this month, he was named to the Football News' second team, as well at The Sporting News' third team. Taylor record 121 tackles this year with 18 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, an interception and two fumble recoveries.
