Important Parking and Traffic Notice for Boston College Football Game
October 25, 2005

Virginia Tech will host a weekday nationally televised football game on Thursday night, Oct. 27, beginning at 7:45 p.m. The traffic impact on the university community for events like these is especially acute on a weekday. Therefore, the university will take steps to ensure the orderly flow of traffic and minimize impact on class schedules.

President Steger has approved the closing of all university offices at 4 p.m. on Oct. 27, with the exception of faculty and staff directly supporting classroom instruction and other critical university operations. Classes will not be cancelled. Faculty can and should consider the impact of the game on classroom instruction. The university registrar is available to help reschedule class periods should a faculty member deem it necessary.

All vehicles must be removed from the Tennis Court Lot (on Washington Street beside the Coliseum) and along Washington Street (from Campus Drive to Kent Street) by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday or be subject to towing.

Vehicles must be removed from certain lots and roads on game day by 4:10 p.m. or be subject to towing (please see our Game Day Information page for specific locations)

Hokie Club members should not attempt to park in their designated spaces until 5 p.m. or later to allow for Virginia Tech employees and students to clear the lots.

If you have any questions concerning this information, please call Parking Services at 231-3200 or, after regular business hours, the University Police Department at 231-6411. If you have questions concerning reserved "Hokie Club" lots please call Athletic Dept at 231-9963.
