BLACKBURG - Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick issued an apology Sunday for his actions in Tech's 34-17 win at West Virginia University Saturday afternoon.

"I apologize for letting my emotions get the best of me Saturday," Vick said. "What I did was wrong and I am sorry. My goal is to be a leader of this team and do things the right way."

In issuing the apology, Vick said he would have no further comment on the situation.

Additionally, it has been announced that running back Mike Imoh will sit out this Saturday's game against Marshall University. Imoh has been hampered by a sprained ankle and will rest it this week with an open week following Saturday's game.

"Mike is suffering from lingering effects of a sprained ankle he suffered in the Duke game," head trainer Mike Goforth said. "Mike had increasing swelling today, therefore we think it is best to place him in a walking boot for the next seven days. He will be re-evaluated at that time."

Redshirt freshmen George Bell and Branden Ore will serve as the co-No. 2 running backs.

Tech, ranked third in the nation, will host Marshall University in a noon game on Saturday. Television coverage is to be determined. It will be the Hokies' Homecoming contest.
