Williams Earns Unanimous All-America Honors
Senior named first-team A-A by The Sporting News
December 20, 2005 BLACKSBURG - The fifth of the five major All-America squads was released Tuesday afternoon and Virginia Tech's Jimmy Williams was named to the first team by The Sporting News, making him a unanimous first-team All-American. It marks the fifth first-team All-America squad for the senior as he was also named to the AFCA, FWAA, Associated Press and Walter Camp first teams. By making all five first teams, he becomes just the fourth unanimous All-American in Tech history, joining Jim Pyne, Corey Moore and Jake Grove. Williams, from Hampton, Va., was a finalist for both the Bronko Nagurski and Jim Thorpe Awards. Williams has 44 tackles and an interception.
